This NEA-funded project was made possibly by the good folks at the Mesa Arts Center, who are pioneered our very own Main Street Prototyping Festival modeled after the Market Street Prototyping Festival.
Over the course of the festival, we analyzed user responses and generated realtime, qualitative data to better understand what people want to see in their downtown. Check out our original project page from early 2017 to see how the concept has evolved! 😉
ideaPortals are a local-first problem-solving method designed to improve our communities. By combining our design ideas, we can consciously shape our neighborhoods and create the very cities in which we want to live.
If this kind of stuff gets your heart pumping, let us know how you’d like to be involved with the project! We’d love to hear from you.
To power ideaPortals, we use a collection of electronic components engineered together in our high-tech home garage. Soon we will have a section detailing each of these parts. Check back soon!
What’s next for ideaPortals?
We’re excited to announce a limited run this winter at Scottsdazzle! Starting Friday December 8th until Sunday the 10th, you can interact with ideaPortals in four locations in Downtown Scottsdale.
